Hello,
I am Iskra!

Bio

I have been a member of the European Parliament since 2014. I was elected twice - in 2014 and 2019 with the support of the members and sympathizers of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms and I am part of the DPS Delegation in the Renew Europe Group. For me, belonging to this Delegation and Group is an honor, a responsibility and a challenge. When I first stepped into the Plenary Hall of the European Parliament, I knew I was prepared. I had my personal views on tolerance, respect for cultural diversity, human rights and the possibilities of the human mind and entrepreneurship built in my family, my life path and the fortune of studying, traveling and working in different countries and cultures. I carried with me the knowledge of professional politics that the DPS gave me and the experience of my work.

Now, after 9 years of experience and work in the European Parliament, I know: The ideas of a European Union united in diversity are defended with hard work, respect for the different, responsibility and knowledge. They are part of the daily life of the European citizen and they give reason for the ever-higher expectations of the citizens from the European institutions.

Besides a union of ideas, the European Union is also a union of new technologies and free enterprise. The changes EU and the world are going through, new policies and changing values are the result of the work of thousands of researchers, engineers, visionaries and politicians who use technology to improve the lives of European citizens. And it is precisely the EU that has the courage to apply new technologies and implement policies that change the world we live in - from the green transition and digital transformation to the free market and artificial intelligence.

The European Union is a union of equal opportunities, but it cannot help those who are falling behind in terms of potential. The worthy place of a country in the EU is won with knowledge, visions, management scope and self-confidence, in partnership with science and business, in cooperation with local authorities and with enormous efforts to attract public groups to the common European causes.

The European Parliament is a symbol of diversity and an expression of the multifaceted, complex efforts that lead to the prosperity of a united Europe. The European Union is also a union of cultures.

Cultures that carry the treasures of the past and the self-confidence of the knowledge that is passed through the generations, but also cultures that find their place in the present and the future.

The future of Bulgaria is to be part of the constantly developing, changing and working for its citizens European Union.

That's what I work for.

Thanks to everyone who supports me!

Thanks to my family!
